When I heard this story this morning I knew I had to get his picture up on the website. Our practice is named for Atticus Equine, a fictional character who displays unflinching moral integrity. Little was I to know that it would have a different meaning for some people.

So this is Fatticus Equine, a very pretty cat that lived on one of our client's yards for many years. Loved by all, the owners at the yard didn't know where he lived, just that he was a friendly and regular visitor to the yard.

Sadly, after many years, he was hit by a car in the road and badly injured. A yard is a site full of people that love animals so I wasn't surprised to learn that they realised he belonged not to an unknown stranger, but to them. So they downed tools and took Fatticus to the vet where he was peacefully put to sleep.

Lots of yards have cats running around. As a cat lover myself, it does my heart good to know they aren't just ignored. Every animal deserves an advocate.
